Band

The band program at South Fort Myers High School offers several performance opportunities. Ensembles offered are Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and various ensembles.

The band program is designed to give students every opportunity to grow as a musician. Our goal is to help students achieve what they want out of life, and music is an avenue that can open many doors. Many students receive college scholarships for their abilities while others just enjoy performing.

Marching Band

Marching band is the most visual representation of the music department. The marching band performs at every fall football game and competes in marching competitions during the fall. The marching band is an annual performer in the Edison Pageant of Light and the Junior Parades.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is now offered as a class during the regular school day. The Jazz Band will perform several times during the year at various events. All members of the Jazz Band will be encouraged to audition for All County and All State bands and FBA Jazz MPA. Rehearsals may be required after school.

Concert Band

Concert Band is a year long course that will perform concerts during the course of the year. The concert band will also perform at the FBA Music Performance Assessment in the spring. Concert band requires very little time outside of school, with the exception of self practice.

Solo and Ensemble

Soloist and small ensembles are always welcome at South Fort Myers. All students interested in Solo and Ensemble are encouraged to audition for FBA SOLO & ENSEMBLE ASSESSMENT
